Program Director, Afghan Scout Program, PARSA 2009 – present

Development of Afghan Scout Program utilizing international training materials and reconstructing old Afghan training materials. Program development has included:

  • Drafting an Afghan Scout Handbook
  • Creating a merit badge program and starting with four merit badges
  • Creating a new program called “Afghan Scouts Work”
  • The development a charter for a new National Afghan Scouts Association charter

Management and coordination of an Afghan Scouts program that includes over 1700 children in orphanages who are registered in troops and conducting twice-weekly programs.

Training and management of PARSA’s Afghan Scout Masters including women Scout Masters in 11 provinces.

Overseeing training workshops for Scout Masters in partnership with the International Scout association for Afghan Scout programs that are being started nationally.

Scout Leader, International Relations, Ministry of Education 2003 – 2009

Scout leader and in charge of international relations for the Afghanistan Scout Association which at the time was run by the Ministry of Education.

Tasks included: administration, liaison between the World Scout Bureau for Asia-Pacific and the Afghanistan Scout Association, training, adult resources tasks.

Participated in a number of international Scouting events including Jamborees and training courses in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Taiwan and Turkey

  • August 2014 – Delegate at the Scouting Jamboree in Turkey
  • July 2011 – IST member in the 28th APR Scouts Jamboree, Scouts of China Centenary and 10th National Jamboree in delegation of Afghanistan Scouts, Kaohsiung, Taiwan
  • 2010-2011 – Running training courses for Scout leaders in several provinces of Afghanistan
  • March 2007 – Delegate to the 4th South Asia Foundation Scout Friendship Camp in Islamabad, Pakistan
  • April 2005 – Delegate at the 3rd South Asia Foundation Scout Friendship Camp in Kathmandu, Nepal
  • April 2004 – Delegate to the 13th National Scout Jamboree in Islamabad, Pakistan
