Sponsorship Cost

It costs $25 per month to sponsor a child from Allahoddin Orphanage. We ask that you commit to sponsoring the child for one full year for a total cost of $300.

Sponsored children receive a locked box with hygiene supplies including soap, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a wash cloth, and a towel.

The child will participate in our healthy child program which includes psychosocial therapy, yoga and sports classes, art and music classes, one-on-one case management, peace education, child rights training, and health coverage at a local hospital.

Services are provide by our committed Afghan staff who we are training to work as social workers, psychosocial therapists, physiotherapists, teachers, and child care providers

What is most important about our program is our goal to teach our staff and government workers responsible, caring and honest ways to work with this marginalized population of children. Poverty and trauma from 30 years of war is the cause of the corruption and neglect that these children have been subjected to which means that if we can do our best even to support the orphanage staff on a psychosocial level, we can train them as well. These problems will never disappear unless care is given both to care givers and to care receivers. This is a big part of our philosophy.

The full year sponsorship fee is around the same as the monthly salary for our staff which is in line with the cost of living. This means that by sponsoring a child you are helping to provide livelihood and training for the staff member as well as care for the child. The hope is that by creating a community of care givers we pass along the skill of caring to the children who can pass it along to future generations.
