The Ancient Healing Art of YogaJuly 2006
The ancient healing art of yoga effectively addresses a myriad of physical complaints including muscle aches, stress, lack of flexibility, back pain, and can function as a holistic exercise program for women who need exercise but are constrained by the difficulties of being outside. Programs: Morning sessions will be at the PARSA Guest House in Karte-Seh and afternoon sessions will be "on-site." Morning Yoga: Open for all people to have one hour of guided yoga session - Monday through Thursday. For Program Directors: Learn the basics designing programs with Yoga so that exercises can be integrated into health and education programs. For Practitioners: Learn basics of yoga so that you can teach a very simple course designed for Afghan people. Observation: Susan will be working with children and with women in a women’s literacy program in the afternoons. You are welcome to observe her work. This program is sponsored by the International Yoga College. Your staff qualifies for training if you are an NGO with programs serving Afghans in health or education capacity. Daily yoga sessions are open for all. If your organization would like to send a staff person to participate in Susan's "train the trainer" sessions with the intent of integrating yoga into programs that are serving Afghans or you would like more information and a schedule of trainings, email M. Yasin Farid at yasinfarid_2006@yahoo.com or call 0700-284-286.
